Host of the podcast What Equality Looks Like and former President of the National Organization for Women (NOW)

Terry O’Neill, Esq., is a feminist attorney, law professor, nonprofit executive, and organizer for fundamental change. 

A lifelong believer in social justice, Terry’s activism began in 1991 when, while teaching law at Tulane Law School, she joined the campaign to stop David Duke from becoming governor of Louisiana. The campaign to stop Duke was a success, and Terry spent the following 10 years organizing for women’s rights and building coalitions with racial justice, labor rights, and social justice organizations in New Orleans. In 2001 she left law teaching and moved to Washington, D.C. to work full-time in the women’s movement. 

Terry served as president of the National Organization for Women from 2009 to 2017.  Under her leadership, NOW changed its mission statement to embrace intersectional grassroots feminist activism, which simply means centering marginalized women (such as women of color, women with disabilities, immigrant women, and LGBTQ people) in NOW’s work for equal rights. 

As host of “What Equality Looks Like“, Terry brings her decades of experience talking the talk and walking the walk to end white supremacy and patriarchy.
